Hi, I’m Dérick.

I’m a Data Scientist who loves logic and philosophy. I have a childhood passion for solving puzzles, and this had a huge influence on my choice for Data Science, as this is how I look at my projects.

My skills make me able to support each step of data science life cycle: from the first ideas to identify problems and understanding business, through data pre-processing and preparing the appropriate model to data visualization and results communication.

I hold a MBA degree in Data Science and Analytics (University of São Paulo – USP) and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Federal University of Viçosa – UFV).

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

I’ve always been very interested in foreign languages, mainly because of the cultural weight they carry. An important part of this story goes through a 1 year exchange in France that I did in 2015, still during my graduation.

About English, I’ve always studied the language practically my entire life, and the last course I did was a 1 year intensive course focused on conversation at Up Time, in 2018.
